PartyPoker Launches PokerFest

Online poker site PartyPoker has recently launched its new PokerFest series of online poker tournaments that will award more than $3 million in overall prizemoney.

Last Sunday PartyPoker launched the new series of online poker tournaments that includes 47 different events held over 2 weeks.

The action is capped off with a $1 million guaranteed main event on November 6; players can also win extra cash in leaderboard competitions as well as through prize draws for all participants.

With the demise of Full Tilt other poker sites such as PartyPoker have been adding new offerings to try to persuade players to make them their new online homes.

Traffic to PartyPoker has increased since Full Tilt lost its gaming license in late June, with 888 Poker also benefiting and drawing increased numbers of players to its cash games and tournaments.

The online tournament series mimc the format of the World Series of Poker in many cases, giving players a bit of the same excitement and the chance to enjoy a steady stream of tournaments over a two week span.

PokerStars' World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) remains the most popular online poker series, with some of its largest events paying out the winner more than $1 million.
