Facebook to Enter Real Money Poker Market?

Rumors continue to swirl that Facebook is in advanced talks with several potential partners about a deal to start offering real money poker games to Facebook users in the UK.

Millions of Facebook users play casino and poker games on the site every week but the games are for play money online, without any real money gambled or at stake.

That coud change in the very near future, with Facebook reportedly in talks with 888 and other potential partners to offer real money poker games to users in the UK.

Any real money games from Facebook would be offered on a country by country basis, as many countries -- including the US -- have strict anti-gambling laws geared towards preventing citizens from playing at online casino and poker sites.

Facebook in the past steered clear of gambling ads and other games but has eased its policies of late, possibly as a precursor to its own entrance into the world of real money poker online.

Social games developer Zynga is in a similar position, sticking to it claim that its Zynga Poker (which has more than 30 million active users) game will remain a play money game, but it could be hard to ignore for forever the potential profits it could reap from offering real money poker.
